Set up your first cap table

4 min read

Your cap table is the heart of Capfold. Setting it up means telling Capfold about your company, your share classes and who owns what today.

1

Add your company

Select New company, then enter your legal entity name and choose its jurisdiction (for example BVI, US/Delaware or Singapore). Capfold tailors the register to the structure you pick.

2

Define your share classes

Add the classes you've issued or plan to issue - typically Ordinary/Common to start, with Preferred added later when you raise.

3

Add your founders and holdings

Enter each founder and the number of shares they hold. The ownership percentages calculate automatically as you go.

4

Create your option pool

If you have an ESOP, set the pool size. It will show on the fully-diluted view so your numbers stay honest.

5

Review the live register

Open the cap table view to see ownership, share classes and the fully-diluted total - all reconciled in real time.

Tip. Don't worry about getting everything perfect on day one. The cap table updates the moment you change anything, so you can refine as you go.

This guide is an illustrative placeholder and will be verified against the live product before launch. Exact screen and button names may differ.
